Update…..I’m back!?

I’ve been doing this as an actual job for a little over a year now and I finally got my first unhappy client. It comes with the business, it’ll come with any business. I’m not upset about her being unhappy, I’m upset that she thinks these photos are “too dark” and “very dull” when this has been my brightest editing style thus far – her photos, this set that I just sent out to her.

Newborns

Quick little update because I know I’ve said I was back for good so many times, but depression is a literal bitch. Sorry for my grammar, but I have no other way to describe it. I’d love to be able to actually write about it one day and quit holding all of my frustration in, but for the time being, I feel like it’s better this way.

On a more positive note – my photography. My sister-n-law, Kelly, and I have created a business and we work together and we’ve found that people love having two photographers instead of one for many reasons: two different styles, double the images, different creative outlooks. I could go on and on, but I wanted to share some photos from a newborn session I did a couple of months ago.  Continue reading Newborns

Back….. & better than ever!

Relating back to my post about buying no more makeup – I’ve done great and haven’t bought ANY new beauty products as far as beauty goes as I’m truly trying to use up what I have (which is more than I’ll ever admit). And it doesn’t hurt that I’m saving quite a bit of money during this break 🙂

But, I’m back and things are honestly going very well. I needed a social media break as I feel like those are healthy to take every now and then. I’ve recently turned a hobby into a job and I’m loving it! I feel like everyone is creative in their own way somehow and my creative outlet just happens to be looking through the viewfinder of a camera. It’s been that way for as long as I can remember to be honest; taking it as far back as my Barbie Polaroid when I was probably like 5/6 and I really haven’t put a camera down since then.

My work has only progressed and gotten better with learning more about every aspect of a camera and editing programs. I don’t claim to be the best, because there is always going to be better. And I don’t claim to know everything there is to know about the camera and software I use, but I’m learning and I love learning about things I’m passionate about!

With that being said, I’m going to start a new series on here. I know it’s probably going to jeopardize the beauty followers I’ve gained, but I’m also hoping it’s going to bring in photography related bloggers and the more tech-like side followers. I can’t wait to turn my blog around and start posting my work and a little bit about each session as I’ve done about 15-18 in the past three weeks. Yes, you read that correctly.

Anyways, that’s about it for now. I hope you guys enjoy what I have in store and I’m so happy that I’m active again!!!

Wildflowers

The bluebonnets in Texas around this time of year are my absolute favorite! I spent 3 hours this past Sunday taking photos for family and even though it was exhausting and hot and itchy because of the grass, I like to think I got some major money shots!

Get Unready With Me!

So recently I’ve been seeing this go around as a Youtube tag/challenge and I thought it would make a great blog post as well! I’ve had a pretty solid nighttime routine for a while. Aside from trying out new products here and there, I’ve been doing the same thing for almost a year now and it’s what works best for me!

Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary

I really was not looking forward to this  as I’m typically not a fan of zoos or aquariums, anywhere where an animal is living in captivity to be completely honest with you. I prefer to see an animal in their actual habitat and not enclosed in a space much smaller than they deserve. And while I know most animals who are in captivity and some zoos are only there because their past is terrible, it’s still a sad sight to see. My personal opinion.

When my mom told me about this and told me that she made reservations for my nieces, her, my grandmother and myself, I really didn’t want to go and was trying to be extra grumpy the morning of in hopes she would just tell me to stay home. That wasn’t the case.  Continue reading Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary
